April Poem A Day Challenge, poem nine:

Taking pictures
Of flowers bordering
Parking lots has
Become routine,

But the photo
An outdoor display
Provided was too
Tempting to disregard.

I captured all
Those beautiful blooms
Without purchasing
Even one. Shady?

Rose bush…

Beautiful blooms…

Rose and bud…

Beautiful white blooms…

I am grateful:

1.   I was able to get an appointment with one of our doctors.
2.   We went into town.
3.   We got some good buys at the after Easter sale.
4.   Kroger had an outdoor flower display.
5.   My nephew, Jeremy, was very encouraging to me last night.

I hope your Monday went well. If you are interested, try writing a shady poem. Interpret shady however you like. That is the PAD Challenge for today.

If you care to, please leave me a comment. Your input is very important to me.

I think your idea for a senior workshop is a great idea. Creativity is a rather large all encompassing word- how would you focus it?

I was thinking we could work with simple poems, haiku and such, because most people don’t think they can write poetry, but anyone can. Maybe use some prompts for a journal entry. Possibly do something with watercolors. Mainly open them up to the fact they are creative and can inexpensively work with their gifts. I had also thought maybe we could do something with collage that would bring them joy.

I am wondering about material costs though. I cannot afford to provide everything. That limits what I would be able to do. I had also thought about doing it in a nursing home environment… I am mostly brainstorming the idea right now. I have to work out the things I would offer and how to present it. I am not terribly comfortable as a public speaker, so it would be a bit difficult for me.

Do you have ideas Ray? You make a good resource… Do you think what I am thinking of would appeal to seniors?
