Paean To Writers

Wordsmiths work magic
Upon the empty pages
Bringing characters
And situations to life
For their diligent readers.

Creativity
Flows freely through each writer’s
Mind seeking to be
Expressed in tangible form
For consumption of the world.

People are bewitched
By imaginative words,
Beautiful phrases,
Made concrete by those who wield
The mighty pen with prowess.

I am grateful:

1.   I caught up on some sleep today.
2.   There was leftover cabbage for me to eat.
3.   I am still writing a poem a day.
4.   Mom is here to share my life.
5.   Alex wrote me an email that made me laugh and realize he still appreciates what I did for him when he was younger.

I hope your Monday has not been overly taxing. Take your energy in hand and use your imagination to create work that others will enjoy. You have great ability if you apply yourself to the task.

As a prompt, write about something disturbing you see developing in society. This should not be very difficult. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

I hope you enjoyed your sojourn with me. If you have thoughts or suggestions, be sure to leave a comment.

Always,
Jo Ann

I do. Sometimes I don’t leave a comment. Don’t want to look like a stalker. I love your genuineness.

Thank you. I try very hard to be real.

I so agree with you, JoAnn. At work, at school, so many people have such an awful attitude. It is completely anti-Biblical. I guess with our entire society so anti- God, we really shouldn’t be surprised. But it is worrisome for our future. I was telling Daniel the other day that it’s like where he works there are one or two people pulling all the weight and driving the train and the rest of the people are all sitting on top, partying. Sooner or later, something has to to give.

Anita, I have thought perhaps a disregard for biblical principles was in part responsible for the attitude, but have also known churched people who acted with the same lack of personal responsibility. I am not sure that the root of the problem is an anti-God attitude. I think much of it stems from a rampant love of self and selfishness. Self interest can drive people to using and abusing privilege to the detriment of others. I wish I knew the solution, but alas I can only point out the problem and hope others will take the warning to heart.
