365 Creativity Project-Day 332

Journal entry:

Journal 12-6-20120001

I missed yesterday’s prompt on Poetic Asides, but I wrote my answer this evening…

In The Company Of Misfits

We do not belong,
We are a bit different,
We are not well liked,
Even in the presence of
Each other we are awkward.

You might like to make
Us feel at home, but we are
Not quite assuaged by
Your sweet words or actions, we
Look askance at such efforts.

We might have once been
Focus of evil bullies
And we remember
How we were badly abused,
Now we are shy of friendship.

We are the misfits
Who sit outside the spotlight,
Hardly moving close
Enough for anyone to
Become acquainted with us.

Yet there is hope for
Us because we are full of
Imagination
And creativity lives
Within our hearts, minds, and souls.

I am grateful:

1.   I woke up this morning.
2.   There were Oreo cookies for breakfast.
3.   The note application on my Droid worked well as my shopping list.
4.   My trip to town went safely.
5.   Some books I ordered came from Amazon yesterday.

This has not been a very good Thursday for me, but I hope your day was much better. Even though I am a bit down I took time to work creatively and so should you. No matter what the day is like creative work can lift the spirits and make things more worthwhile. I urge you to make an effort.

As a prompt, write about your position in society. You may think yourself well placed, or perhaps you are an outcast, tell us about it. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I would appreciate your comments and your following Chronicles.

Always,
Jo Ann

I’m sorry your feeling like such a misfit today. I do hope tomorrow brings you a smile. Your poem is really great tonight. So full of emotion. I love the pic of the flowers too.

Thank you so much Dana… Days go up and down. There is always something going on, good and bad. I have to focus on the pleasant.

I appreciate your reading and commenting. Sorry I have taken a bit to get back to you. Sometimes there seems to be so much going on.

My friend, your poem spoke to me, the way I once was, and the way I became, and am now.

In school many considered me different, and picked on me, but I got past all that.

I was too awkward, and shy to develope relationships with the opposite sex.

I was a loner, for the most part, until I got a computer in 1998.

Because of that there was hope for me because I am full of
Imagination, and creativity lives within my heart, mind, and soul.

I have done so much, and made new friends, the last 14 years,
because that computer helped me to open up to the wider world

Kiril, thank you for the wonderful comment. I am so glad the computers have changed your life for the better. I think they are magical that way.

      You inspired me.

Aww, my poor sweet friend. I hope days like this Thursday are very rare for you. Missing your boy must have been the biggest hit. I know I miss Jonathan so very much and also only get to see him rarely. Sending you all my love. 🙂

Thank you Veronica. Things have been a bit of a roller coaster emotionally lately. I hope it evens out soon. Highs and lows like this make me feel almost as if my Schizo-Affective Disorder is acting up, but it is okay, just life is being Bi-Polar.
