Calling For Relief

I see their faces
Projected on all my screens,
There is no hiding
From their desperate hardship,
I want to alleviate.

I am not so far
Removed from their poverty,
But God blesses me
With everything which I need
And some things I merely want.

How can I with so
Little do enough to help
Make their lives better?
Maybe someone who reads this
Will be moved to aid the poor.

I pray Lord Jesus
To send them all the help that
They need in this time
Including the Good News of
The awesome gift of His grace.

I try to remind
Those who are within my reach
To lend helping hands
To those who cross their pathways
And those who are far away.

I am grateful:

1.   I woke up early this morning.
2.   Though my stomach was upset I had a good day.
3.   The outfit Mom got for me fits.
4.   I am still writing daily.
5.   My computer is very useful.

My Saturday has been delightful. I hope your day was also enjoyable. I loaded fourteen CDs (162 songs) into iTunes and onto my iPods today. The music helped intoxicate my muse who came out of hiding for a little while. I recommend you engage your imagination and creativity to make something to share with the world.

As a prompt, write about an issue in society that concerns you. You might write a poem, concoct a story, or write a journal entry. Do whatever suits your mood and leave a link to your work in the comments below.

Thank you for visiting my blog. While you are here you might want to enter your email address in the space above so you will receive future updates from Chronicles. If you have any thoughts, suggestions, or criticism to share with me, please leave a comment.

365 Creativity Project-Day 296

Journal entry:

Journal 10-31-20120001

When looking around
The corner what did I see,
But a scary man
Staring straight into my eyes
Without any fear of me.

I am not fearsome,
So easily overcome
By any other
Who stands up against me with
A firm presence, unafraid.

I only know how
To fade into the distance
Disappearing out
Of sight of those who are strong
And full of raging anger.

I fight my battles
With simple syllables that
Flow ever freely
From my trembling lips into
The awaiting empty space.

A frightening thing
Is a man who attempts to
Intimidate me
By taking away my voice
To reach out unto the world.

I am grateful:

1.   Jeremy, Christy, and Jayden allowed me to take photos of their jack-o-lanterns and cat last night.
2.   I caught us up on our Bible reading.
3.   Hope is almost well.
4.   Mom felt better today.
5.   We had a quiet day at home.

I hope you had a very Happy Halloween. Take time to create something before the day is over. I know there is plenty of inspiration on a day such as this one. You have the talent, just apply yourself and share your magnificent gifts with the world.

As a prompt, write about something that scares you. This could be a person, a challenge, or a circumstance. Anything that makes you uncomfortable could qualify. If you use this prompt, please leave a link to your work in the comments below.

Thank you for visiting my blog. If you have thoughts, suggestions, or criticism, please leave me a comment. I want to remind you that it is easy to follow Chronicles, in case you would like daily updates.

A Brief Break From Regularly Scheduled Programming-Animal Poems

I thought I would share these few older poems. One of my new friends is a Cat Blogger and made me think of these…

T.J. Does Windows – Revisited

She is not sophisticated
In her manipulative use,
Still it is her desired program.
She arrives by invitation
Of the sheer openness to lounge
Gazing out at the spacious world,
No blinds to obscure her vision.
She slumbers utterly content
Upon the eggshell windowsill,
Her sable nose twitching softly
As she seizes some slight fragrance.
She leaps sudden, down gracefully,
Slinking lithe ebony and white
Elsewhere to dream or spry engage
In her coddled cat wonderland.

My Darling, Hope

Darling of my heart
Always dear, dependable,
Loyal without question.

Companion who walks with me
With quiet joy
And overwhelming happiness.

Partner in my bed
Who snuggles up warmly
Against me in the night.

I never knew
A puppy dog
Could be such a friend.

My Master and Me

The world is a huge place
I take up so little space.

My master is strong
I do as she says and come along.

Every day is an adventure
My thoughts are sweet and pure.

I am a puppy dog
I like it when we jog.

My master is the leader
I try hard to delight her.

I have great love and joy
I am better than any toy.

My master is adorable
I please her when I am able.
